I have just completed an entire revamp of the way gear is ranked on MaxDPS.com. The main change is that stat and gear rankings are no longer determined by models developed in-house. The rankings are now determined by the community trusted SimulationCraft values using the most up to date class ability priorities and information.

Aside from the details, one large immediate benefit of this change is that now, gear rankings are available for all classes and specs!. I would also really appreciate if you would spread the words to your guildmates and friends that the site now supports all classes! Thanks!
New Gold Guide! - I'm recommending a brand new Gold Guide that has surpassed all others since its patch 4.3 update. It is the best gold guide currently on the market. WoW Secret Gold Guide! I've done a lot of research on this, so if you want to be able to buy all those amazing new BoE's in the auction house, I recommend getting it now!
All items from the three new 5-man dungeons (End Time, Hour of Twilight, and Well of Eternity), the new raid (Dragon Soul) and all new crafted gear have ALL been added. Have a look through and plan your upgrade path!
Frost Death Knight - The hottest Death Knight class has been added for some time now. Check out the (maximum dps) 2-Handed version now!
Marksmanship Hunter - Far and away the top Hunter DPS spec has now been fully updated.
Twitter! - MaxDPS is now on Twitter; follow for updates on site changes, as well as general WoW news, thoughts and discussion!
Cataclysm Leveling Guide! - The Zygor leveing guide (that I have been recommending for over 3 years) is ready now with its Fully Updated 1-85 Leveling Guide for Cataclysm! I personally use this in-game guide and recommend it without hesitation! :) Anyway, like I've been saying, I don't make these recommendations lightly, and know it will help you get your characters to 85 very quickly on Cataclysm launch night, or get your new Goblin/Worgen raiding in no time! Check it out.
Armory Import - This took much longer than anticipated but the Armory Import is finally back up and running. This was a complete re-write so if you notice and small issues let me know!
Balance Druid - Balance Druid rankings are finally updated to patch 4.2! Also, some of the best DPS classes do not have rankings here right now. I want to fix this over the next few weeks by adding/updating some classes. Keep an eye out for that!
Patch 4.3 - The next major content patch is coming relatively soon. This will include the final raid where players will be able to face Deathwing. But will also include three new 5-man instances!
Patch 4.2 - All items including new raid drops, new craftables, new quest rewards, tier 12 and of course the new legendary item are all now ranked. This was a very large patch with tons of items added so go have a look at all the new stuff available to both casual and hardcore players! Also, all classes had some updates this patch, most were minor but a few had some significant effect on the rankings, so go check that out as well.
PvP Season 10 - Season 10 starts next week, so look for all the new Ruthless Gladiator gear to show up very soon!
Firelands and Patch 4.2 content - Almost all items from the upcoming Firelands raid zone have been added. I'll also be adding all other 4.2 items over the next while as they appear on the PTR. You can tell the new items apart from the old items easily now with the new "PTR" image to the right of the item listings.
Armory Import Update - Blizzard will be releasing an official way for community sites like MaxDPS to get character information. They posted a preview a few weeks back and I expect it will be posted very soon. I will be adding back the Armory Import feature when this has launched, please stay tuned!
Patch 4.1! - The first content patch of Catalcysm will almost definitely be going live this Tuesday, April 26th! With this comes all the new items from the two new/updated heroic 5 man dungeons: Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub. Also, there's a bunch of class changes and bug fixes will be pushed live here on the same date. It also sounds like 4.2 will be up on the PTR very soon and then we'll be seeing some new raid content; cause I'm sure everyone has heroic Nef on farm status, right? ;)
Armory Import - This has been taken down for the time being as there's a technical issue connecting to the new Battle.net Armory servers. I expect to have this back up ASAP. As you know, the site is still fully functional, you just need to take a little bit of extra time to input your stats manually. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience (and slow news update on this one....).
A ton of class changes were released on the live realms today for patch 4.0.6. All class changes are now added, including some larger mastery changes for Combat Rogues, Ret Paladins and Unholy Deathknights. Also, there are a few item additions and changes which are almost all live.
More Classes: I'm Hoping to add Moonkin Druids fairly soon. I also may add Marksmanship Hunters if their DPS proves to be around Survival in terms of DPS. There's also a lot of people wanting more Rogue specs and I will add the top dps spec when that emerges for 4.0.6!
Unholy Deathknight - This class is now fully updated for Cataclysm, there is no longer a set rotation but an ability priority system (like almost all classes in Cataclysm).
I've made a bunch of small bug fixes on the site. The Armory Importer now works with the exception of mastery rating - I won't get into the technical reasons why I can't import mastery rating, but I hope to be able to add this functionality soon. Also, all default values have been updated to be as close as possible to an average ilvl of 356, or pre-raid gear.
