New quests by zone in WoW Forever

How many new quests we can name in each zone so far, and which of them have the best-scoring rewards.

Blizzard says WoW Forever adds more than 1,000 new quests, including more than 150 in Riverglades. Wowhead’s data names 669 so far, with only 1 in Riverglades, so read these counts as a minimum. Among the zones we can count, Zephras Isle leads with 97, then Elwynn Forest with 25 and Wetlands with 23.

New quests in each zone

Quests Wowhead’s Forever data marks as new, each name counted once per zone. Left out: placeholders, and new records that reuse an older quest’s name, such as Call of Fire.

This is a minimum. Blizzard says Riverglades has more than 150 new quests, which would put it ahead of every zone here. Wowhead’s data names 1.

No new quest named yet

Nothing in the data does not mean nothing in the game: Blizzard names Mount Hyjal as a new zone, for one.

Dungeons, classes and the rest

New quests that do not belong to an outdoor zone. Dungeon quests are the ones Wowhead files under the dungeon itself.

New quests with the best-scoring rewards

A quest is here when a reward scores in the top 3 for its slot, for at least one build, at the first ranking level at or above the quest’s level. Same rankings as the class pages: weighted points, not DPS. Old and new quests together are in the best quest rewards guide.

New quests that start from something you find

The quest data we have does not say which quest follows which, so we cannot list whole chains. These links we can prove: the item starts the quest, and the quest pays out in gear.

Questions

How many new quests does WoW Forever have?

Blizzard says more than 1,000 across levels 1 to 60. Wowhead’s data names 669 of them so far: 384 in outdoor zones and cities, the rest in dungeons, class quests, Craftsman’s Writs and Camping 101. It marks 911 records as new, but many share a name, so we count names.

Which zone has the most new quests?

Riverglades is the only zone Blizzard’s launch article gives a number for, more than 150. Among the zones we can count, Zephras Isle leads with 97, then Elwynn Forest with 25 and Wetlands with 23.

Why does Riverglades show so few?

Blizzard says more than 150 new quests cover much of the mid-30s to mid-40s there, but Wowhead’s data does not list them yet. This page updates as the data does.

Can the game files give the real number?

No. The game client’s quest list holds ID numbers only, with no names, zones or levels, so it cannot say which quests are new or where they are.

Are whole quest chains listed here?

No. The quest data we have does not say which quest follows which, so we only show the links we can prove: an item you find that starts a quest.

Where this comes from

Blizzard’s numbers are from its launch article. Which quests are new, their zones, levels and rewards are Wowhead’s Forever data, last imported October 16, 2026. Items that start quests and item stats come from the game files, except items marked provisional, which show Wowhead’s stats for now. Scores are MaxDPS’s build rankings, an opinion from each build’s stat weights.
