Quest rewards you should not skip in WoW Forever

The highest-scoring reward in each level bracket, with its quest, zone and faction.

These quest rewards score highest at level 30 among those in a slot’s top 10. Tanks: Headbasher (Alliance), Outlaw Sabre (Horde). Healers: Dark Ritual Leggings (Alliance), Kris of Orgrimmar (Horde). Melee damage: Headbasher (Alliance), Outlaw Sabre (Horde). Ranged damage: Tunic of Westfall (Alliance), Crescent Staff (Horde). Spellcasters: Staff of Soran'ruk (either faction). Each score belongs to one build, so pick your faction, role or spec below for your own list at every level from 1 to 30. When a quest offers a choice, you take one reward. A score is our model’s opinion, not DPS.

Top 15 by role

The three highest scores in each of the five brackets, with the build that scores each reward highest. Each score links to that build’s full slot ranking. When a quest offers a choice, the list shows the top scorer and names the others, which another build may prefer. Pick a spec for up to 15 per bracket.

What the ranking means

The ranking is the MaxDPS weighted score at the top level of each bracket, the same score as the class pages: it adds up an item’s stats by a build’s stat weights, with healers scored on healing. It is our model’s opinion, not DPS, and it does not simulate combat. There is no ranking below level 10, so the first bracket is judged at level 10.

A reward counts in a bracket once its quest level is within the bracket and it places in a build’s top 10 for its slot at that level. Scores are compared across slots and weapon damage weighs heavily, so weapons often lead a list.

Questions

What are the best quest rewards in WoW Forever?

Can you take more than one quest reward?

When a quest offers a choice, you take one of them. Rewards a quest always gives come as well. Each list here counts a quest’s choice once: the top scorer stands for the quest and the card names the others.

Why is a quest missing for my faction?

Many quests belong to one faction. Each list shows what your faction can take, and each quest says Alliance only, Horde only or both when the data holds it. Class quests count only for that class.

Where this comes from

Item stats come from the WoW Forever game files, and rewards marked provisional use Wowhead’s stats for now. Quests, their rewards, levels, factions and zones come from Wowhead’s Forever data, which does not list a quest’s race limits or the earlier quests in its chain, so a quest may ask for more than its level. Profession, battleground, event and seasonal quests are left out.
