WoW Forever is live. Find your first upgrades

Pick up where you want to

Welcome back.
Keep the homework short.

Start with a role you enjoy, compare one gear slot at your current level, then choose a dungeon or a small goal for your next session. The gear tool shows preliminary weighted points, not DPS or a reviewed best-in-slot list.

A useful first session

  1. Choose one class or build. Use the class directory for roles and playstyle; class trait comparisons appear only after review.
  2. Check one possible upgrade. On its specialization page, set your level and compare an item in the same slot. Read its source and requirements before making a plan.
  3. Pick one activity. The dungeon directory shows reported level ranges and clearly labels incomplete boss and loot coverage.

Skip a full gear rebuild, assumed DPS rankings, and any acquisition route whose availability has not been confirmed. You can keep a shortlist in My plan in this browser.

Choosing a class

Choose a class for the way you play

Choose the role and combat style you enjoy first. Pets suit players willing to manage a companion; healing and tanking bring additional group decisions.

Starting with friends

Prepare a useful first session with friends

Agree on a zone and a group role, train the abilities you can afford, and bring food, water or ammunition as appropriate. Check dungeon quests before travelling; faction starts and prerequisites differ.
